Maskedman resin gang - first 5 hand painted versions

 Following the first wave of resin Maskedmen sent out last week are these one of a kind, handpainted versions.. If you follow Hoakser on any social media sites you'll probably have seen a few pics of these in progress.. Anyway, they just went up in the store and at the time of typing this, there are only two left..

HEADS UP MAGNET HEADS

These magnet heads are now available from the store. There was only two of this colour way painted, but expect to see a few more versions appearing over the next few days.. keep an eye my Bigcartel store if you want one..

Fresh in the store this morning are these three, one of a kind painted resin VandalFace dudes. Sealed with a gloss lacquer and bagged with a sticker, you can find these little guys in my Bigcartel store now for just £5 each..

MASKEDMAN RESIN PIECES AVAILABLE ON MONDAY..

A very long time ago when I first started practicing graffiti I drew my first masked character that became the Maskedman character I draw and paint today..Over the years he's been through some changes and has appeared on an uncountable amount of  surfaces. Several years ago when I started to sculpt and customize toys, making a Maskedman figure was the first thing I wanted to do for obvious reasons..Due to the lack of skill and knowledge I had / have in this department it took some time to learn to make this happen.Years later, after getting slightly better at sculpting and learning a bit about the processes involved in casting resin, I finally have the first batch of Maskedman pieces available in 5 different colours, limited to 5 of each..

The sculpt itself was worked on over a long period of time in between everything else..You can read more about that here....

 All pieces have been spray painted with a two tone haze, signed and splatted so no two are the same.. Finished with a high gloss lacquer to allow the light to pick out the details.. Each piece comes with a mini matching can of paint and comes bagged with a sticker.. Finally, they will be available to order on Monday 29th September from my Bigcartel store..HERE..

As an added bonus, the first ten Maskedmen to leave the store come with a hand painted magnet slap for your fridges..

He stands 11cm tall (just under 4.5 inches) and will be priced at £25 plus postage.Only 5 of each colour have been made so get in quick if you want a certain colour. CUSTOM CAN SCULPTS IN THE STORE..

New to the store are these four sculpted cans.Each sold separately and available from my Bigcartel store. Painted with spraypaint and acrylics before sealing with lacquer. These one off customs stand 19cm tall and come supplied with a clogged nozzle. To check them out in more detail, head over to the STORE... 

Only available in the UK due to aerosol restrictions in transit.. 

MASKEDMAN RESIN PROGRESS

     Something I've been working on for months and months in between everything else is this guy.. A little version of my Maskedman character.. Standing just under 4.5 inches tall, the original was sculpted with milliput..After spending so long on working on him, I decided to do something with this piece and turn him into a small army of resin replicas..

My lack of skill in molding and casting saw a few minor hiccups with a few air bubbles that had to be sorted out and filled in, but overall, everything seemed to work out quite well.. 

Half way through making the first run of ten "they need spray cans" popped into my head so it had to happen.. My mold was set and the pouring of resin continued.Most of them came out without a nozzle on the can for some reason, but that's fine..As Bob Ross always used to say, "there are no mistakes, just happy little accidents"

  With air bubbles now filled in, sanded and ready for paint, these guys should be ready for the store over the next two weeks.. Fow now, I can announce that there will be a few different colour variants available in a limited run of 5 of each. They will come bagged and tagged, each with a mini can matching the figures colour, and a unique hand drawn magnet slap for your fridges shown below..

VANDALFACE IS BACK..

VandalFace is back...Previously made, released and sold out in 2012, he's a 2 inch piece of resin, scupted,molded and cast by me..This piece was the second time I'd tried doing anything in resin and whilst working on my 3rd resin piece to date, I decided to re visit this guy by making another 10 available..

There are 5 of each available -pink and white with black splatter.All of them come bagged, numbered with stickers and a card. Each figure has been given a protective shiny gloss lacquer and their  faces can be turned.

Priced at just £6.00 each these little dudes are in my Bigcartel store..

MORE SICKER THAN YOURS

It's been a while since I dropped my name on a canvas but a few days ago I finished up this beast.. Painted with spraypaint and acrylic, this piece measures 1m x 50cm and if you don't already know..it says HOAKSER..

PEOPLE STAND TOGETHER . BRUM SPIRIT . DIGBETH 2014

On the 4th of August, RCF1 (from Paris) and myself met for the first time and began to plan how we would tackle the project given to us by Brum Spirit..For the next week we would be transforming the front of People Stand Together (a club in Digbeth) with artwork that reflects on the meaning and the message of the venue and it's location..

Big thanks to Tessa of Brum Spirit for looking after us, making this happen, feeding us and the fun times.. Biggupp Pecka, Spekta and all the PST fam for the good times, support and big respect to RCF1 for making the journey and being part of this journey..I think we did good... Considering we had never met, let alone painted together, and also after some of the late nights enjoying ourselves at PST after painting hours..:)

Our new friends at Brum Territory stopped by a few times over the week and kindly put this short video together..

INSECT RAVER VW CAMPER VAN CUSTOM

This VW camper van model was painted for a friend who's only specifications were "drippy, green, insects, rave, jungle" type of thing...This is what I came up with..Painted with spray paint and acrylics before sealing with lacquer..

SMASHING WALLS AT TEAM DES FITNESS

  The "Team Des Fitness" gym in Highgate Birmingham have had me flexing my painting muscles on their walls lately..Check out the facebook page if you need a personal trainer or gym to use in Birmingham, they come highly recommended!

  Here's some of the work that you could normally only can get to look at in more detail if you signed up to Team Des...You'd probably be forced to sweat and get out of breath so consider yourself lucky, many people may have felt like fainting or puking near these paintings.

CROWNS HATS MASKS AND CHIN STRAPS..

This new piece on canvas was finished a few days ago... "Active" is an original painting with lots of different techniques and textures mixed in the paint work..It features a character of mine, wearing a hat that's got a crown with a mask that also has a hat...(I like hats and masks)...After putting down the first lines, that I wasn't too sure of, it eventually turned into something I enjoyed painting..

The words "I rock a crown with a chin strap so shit don't slip when I'm handing out bitch slaps" are subtly faded into the background..It measures 40 x 40 cm and is around 4cm deep..

IN GRAFF WE TRUST

This is a new piece on canvas, fresh in the store that I  finished earlier this week.. Measuring 50x40cm, painted with spray paint and acrylics.The gold in the background doesn't really shine on camera, but it pops in real life or when photographed with the flash on..

Lego themed wall for Sun at the Station pub in Kings Heath

The Sun At The Station pub in Kings Heath, Birmingham, had a new mural put onto their walls last week..With a loose brief of "something that includes the old Kings Heath train station and a whole in the wall with some Lego"  I was given free reign to brighten up 4 small walls that lead from the beer garden to the back room..


This was the space before I got busy, which gives an idea of scale..The picture at the top of the page is a panoramic of all four walls.Not the easiest space to get pictures in, but you get the idea..
